Library of the Future Fund
This newly created fund will ensure that the library workspaces of the future will keep pace with changes in education, research and student needs. No VCU student in the year 2050 should encounter the furniture we install in 2015. It also will anticipate and prepare for vast changes in technology that already are driving scholarship and inspiring innovation. More has changed in technology in the past 10 years than, arguably, in the previous 100. Tomorrow’s academic libraries will see even more radical change. We must be prepared.
This fund is an inviting giving opportunity for people with a keen awareness of higher education, a vision for the future and a commitment to stewardship and meeting the needs of future generations of students.
This fund is an ideal fit for planned gifts, gifts from estates, annuities or life insurance gifts or for multi-year pledges or giving by payroll deduction. It is also highly recommended for members of the VCU academic community, including retired faculty, who value libraries and understand the vital need for endowments that position VCU for an increasingly bright future.
It is possible that the fund itself could be named in honor of a benefactor.
