September 11, 2014 — VCU Libraries welcomes families to stop by Cabell Library between 1 and 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014. Library staff will be on hand to discuss details of our new library, the construction process itself and upcoming changes during the year to Cabell Library. Cabell Life Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 1

September 11, 2014 — Join us for the fall annual Cabell Life Forum, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Cabell Library Multipurpose Room (room #250). Helene Wecker wins the annual VCU Cabell First Novelist Award

July 24, 2014 — The VCU Department of English has just announced that the winner of this year's VCU Cabell First Novelist Award is Helene Wecker for The Golem and the Jinni, published by HarperCollins. The novel is a historical fantasy set in turn-of-the-century New York City, charting the unlikely friendship and romance between two mythical characters. Full article »

VCU Libraries Events in Review, 2013-14

May 22, 2014 — This has been a landmark year for VCU Libraries for many reasons. The libraries have been busier than ever, with over 30 featured events and exhibits, not including any of the countless library orientations, information sessions, classes and workshops. Estimated total attendance for events alone reached a record-breaking 7,700 people. To everyone in the audience, our sincere thanks for helping to make this such an exciting time in our history.
