Opening April 25: Gallery showcases VCU scientists' microscopic images

April 10, 2014

Anders Hånell, Ryan Clohessy and Gireesh Reddy are recipients of prizes and best in show honors in "Through the Looking Glass,” a VCU Libraries contest and exhibition of microscopic images created by VCU students, faculty and staff.

Prize winners will be honored at the opening reception Friday, April 25, 3 to 4:30 p.m. It is free and open to all.

The works will remain on view at  through December 2014.

The exhibit was organized by Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, which invited submissions of microscopic images earlier this year. Images were analyzed and scored by Scott Henderson, Lara Mabry, Rene Olivares-Navarrete and Ning Zhang on the basis of aesthetic appeal, technical skill and scientific significance.
