Sarah Amick has worked in libraries for many years. While attending the University of Mary Washington, Amick gained valuable library experience as a student assistant in the Circulation Department at Simpson Library. During summer breaks she worked at her local public library in Summers County, W. Va. After graduating from the University of Mary Washington with a B.A. in English in 2003, she was hired as a full-time staff member at Simpson Library, where she worked for three years as the Evening Circulation Supervisor.
Amick joined VCU Libraries in 2006. Since November 2009, she has been the assistant at the Community Health Education Center. She assists patients, family members and other CHEC visitors with their health information needs, helps plan and promote monthly health and wellness presentations and provides support for day-to-day operations. When not in CHEC, Amick can often be found assisting users at the Tompkins-McCaw Library Service Desk.
