Leila Prasertwaitaya, a graduate of VCU's Art History program, believes art is a means for social change. She loves helping others appreciate art and enjoys helping artists find inspiration for their work. She has received travel grants to conduct research and presented at numerous conferences. She has speaking and reading abilities in Thai, Spanish, Italian, Farsi and Arabic. In her spare time, she also takes classes on printmaking and bookbinding.

Prasertwaitaya primarily takes care of the Cabell Library Book Art Collection, which is not only utilized by VCU students and faculty but by the greater Richmond art community as well. She provides course-integrated instruction and research consultations on book art, zines, decorative arts and architectural history materials. She processes archival collections from galleries, artists and other art-related collections. She also creates library exhibits to promote materials from Special Collections and Archives.
