Archives of the New Dominion
VCU Libraries is launching the Archives of the New Dominion outreach initiative in 2005 to reach out to area African-American, Hispanic, Gay and Lesbian, and Women's Activist organizations. The purpose of this project is to collect the materials from these communities which will be necessary for historians and social scientists of the future to document their existence and efforts. This is a three-year, NHPRC grant-funded initiative designed to strengthen VCU's connections with the Greater Richmond community and to fill in what might otherwise be a gap in the history of this region.
