The DAVE Project

According to the website, "the DAVE Project, an acronym for the Digital Atlas of Video Education, is a collection of teaching tools. The project consists of a gastrointestinal endoscopy video atlas and medical lectures and presentations. Physicians are encouraged to submit material, for consideration,as new entries will enrich and expand the atlas." To view and listen to any of the audio podcasts or video vodcasts simply go to the website and choose from the list of topics on the left hand side of the page.

American Dental Association Podcasts

As part of a pilot initiative, the American Dental Association has produced a number of podcasts on a variety of dental topics. The ADA also has a nice Podcast FAQ page so downloading the latest ADA podcast is as simple as brushing your teeth!

Pediatrics Pedcasts

Produced by the University of Arizona College of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics, Pediatrics Pedcasts was developed "in order to respond to the recent challenges of modern pediatric resident education". Podcasts or "pedcasts" feature topics ranging from interviewing young children and adolescents to dealing with nutrition and separation anxiety.

Johns Hopkins Medicine Podcasts

The Johns Hopkins Medicine Podcasts are weekly podcasts looking at the top medical stories of the week for people who want to become informed participants in their own health care. With Elizabeth Tracey, director of electronic media for Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Rick Lange M.D., chief of clinical cardiology at Johns Hopkins.

ACAAI American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Podcast/Vodcast

Every second week, the College will post a new 30-minute vodcast (video podcast) of a key presentation from its 2006 Annual Meeting on-line. Each vodcast will contain the original audio and presentation slides and can be viewed from a computer or downloaded to a portable media player. To begin downloading audio podcasts and video vodcasts simply go the ACAAI Podcast/Vodcast Library.

Mobile Technologies Special Interest Group

Get a new PDA, iPod, Blackberry, or other mobile device over the holidays? Want to collaborate with others and discuss ways in which to use these devices at VCU? Interested in buying a mobile device, but want to hear feedback on products before making a purchase? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions you may be interested in joining the VCU Libraries sponsored Mobile Technologies Special Interest Group. Meetings will be held quarterly to gather up-to-date information, listen to presentations, and share information on various types of mobile devices and how they are being used at VCU.
