You asked for it -- you got it!
Beginning on September 7, 2010, you will be able to reserve the 28 group study rooms in Cabell Library. These rooms -- on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors -- can accommodate groups from two to ten members, and provide space and technology resources for collaborative work. Rooms can be reserved for up to two hours at a time, three times a week, and up to fourteen days in advance. Use our online reservation system to view the calendar and submit a reservation for the room you want to use.
For more details, visit the Cabell Library Group Study Room page or ask a library staff member at any service desk.
VCU Libraries and the Monroe Park Campus Student Government Association present this year's first Cabell Life Forum on Thursday, September 9th, at 5:00 p.m. in the second floor Learning Commons. The Forum will be held in the Multipurpose Room. The Cabell Life Forum is an opportunity to bring questions and concerns about Cabell Library to library administrators. We want to hear directly from students, so bring your comments, suggestions, and questions. Refreshments will be provided.

The PsycINFO database is now available through APA PsycNet. It is still accessed via Quick Links or through Databases A-Z, but the new interface lets you search across 5 databases simultaneously:
PsycINFO (same content that was previously available via EBSCO)
PsycARTICLES (all full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly articles)
PsycBOOKS (contains the full text of chapters/books including APA titles, classic books, and the Encyclopedia of Psychology)
PsycEXTRA (indexes the gray literature in psychology and the behavioral sciences; good source for emerging research)
PsycCRITIQUES (a weekly release of book and film reviews, including popular films; a good source for teaching materials)

CLUAC meets monthly to discuss library issues and to participate in a variety of library service activities. Please contact Jennifer Roach (828-6696) or Laura Westmoreland (828-8562) if you have more questions.
Become familiar with Cabell Library early and save on hassles later in the semester. Cabell Library tours meet inside the first-floor main entrance and last approximately 30 minutes. Participants will learn more about the facility, collections, and resources, as well as how library services and staff can assist visitors in completing their assignments. No registration required.
