Classical Scores Library makes accessible the most important classical scores and manuscripts, allowing for the study and analysis of more than 25,000 scores. The collection includes works spanning time periods from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Coverage of score types is comprehensive, with full scores, study scores, piano and vocal scores, and piano reductions.
The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online is the first comprehensive online resource devoted to music research of all the world's cultures. More than 9,000 pages of material, combined with entries by more than 700 international expert contributors, make this the most complete body of work focused on world music. Articles include detailed photographs that show musicians, musical instruments, and the cultural context of dances, rituals, and ceremonies.
Special Collection & Archives is accepting donations of Rams memorabilia from the recent championship. Items such as tickets, flyers, posters, t-shirts, pennants, cheer gear, and photographs, almost anything that will help document the season, are particularly desired. If you have items that you would be interested in donating, please bring them to Special Collections & Archives on the fourth floor of James Branch Cabell Library from Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For questions or suggestions, please contact Special Collection & Archives at (804) 828-1108.
In the exhibit area on the fourth floor of James Branch Cabell Library, two new exhibits of book art are on display. The first focuses on pieces from the Women's Studio Workshop, the nation's largest publisher of hand-printed, hand-bound books. Founded in 1974, the Workshop has published nearly 200 volumes. Special Collections & Archives at James Branch Cabell Library is a repository for the Workshop and has over 170 volumes from its collection. The second exhibit is of travel-themed pieces and includes the work of Linda K. Johnson, a graduate of VCU's MFA in Visual Communication program.

Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right or a commodity that should be bought and sold? Stephanie Soechtig's debut documentary offers a look into the unregulated world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back a resource as a commodity: our water. This inspiring film exposes the hidden impacts of the big business of bottled water on individual health, local communities, agriculture, and the global environment. (76 minutes)
