Help us decide: Does VCU need these databases?

VCU Libraries collection management professionals are always up-to-date on improvements in products and databases that might aid students and scholars. Several databases are being tested now.

Users have temporary access to these databases while they are under consideration for a subscription. Your feedback is very valuable in this selection process, so please let us know what you think of these resources.

  • Filmmakers Library Online. Trial access through Sept. 11. Includes more than 900 award-winning documentaries. Browse and search transcripts, create personal playlists and save clips for use in courses.
  • Testing and Education Reference Center (TERC). Trial access through Sept. 14. Includes  practice exams and books for the GRE, LSAT, MCAT, MAT, and TOEFL exams, as well as information on colleges, technical schools, and professional license exams. Free registration required in order to access testing materials. 
  • AP Stylebook Online. Trial access through Sept. 16. Web-based searchable/browsable version of the Associated Press (AP) Stylebook.
  • Access Databases for Health Sciences. Trial access through Sept. 30. Includes specialty textbooks, curricular tools, drug information, multimedia, self-assessment tests, and other features. Under consideration are: AccessPediatrics; AccessPhysiotherapy and JAMAevidence.
  • American Film Scripts. Trial access through Oct. 1. Includes 1,009 scripts with detailed information on the scenes, characters and people related to the scripts. Searchable and browsable.
