The Community Health Education Center is hosting a program on spider bites on Tuesday, May 1 at noon.  Evelyn Waring RN, Education Coordinator at the Virginia Poison Center will be presenting.

Spiders are everywhere in our natural environment and sometimes are found in our homes.  Come to learn about the two poisonous spiders in Virginia: where they're most often found, how to recognize them, and what problems can be caused by their bite.

My name is Kris Hughes, and I'm one of the librarians at the Tompkins-McCaw Library, VCU Libraries. I've been a member of the Education Services team since the fall of 2007, when I began working at TML. My professional library interests include consumer health, evidence-based medicine, and instructional design. Before coming to Richmond, I worked as a hospital librarian at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago as the Technical and Electronic Services Librarian.

Here at VCU, I serve as the library liaison to the VCU Health System, the Massey Cancer Center, and the School of Medicine clinical departments. In this role, I am available to assist you with your research and information-seeking needs. For example, one of the liaison services that TML librarians provide are individual or group research consultations.
