COIN gives you:  information about your health you can trust, someone to talk to and help you get health information, free information and help finding it, books, videos and internet and four libraries in easy-to-find places

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia has four health information resource centers. Two, the Community Health Education Center and the Massey Cancer Center Linen-Powell Resource Library are located on the Medical College of Virginia Campus at VCU. The Women's Health Resource Center and the Massey Cancer Center Patient Resource Center are located at Stony Point. These libraries provide information on general health topics, cancer and women's and family health.

Communith Health Education Center (CHEC):  Where Knowledge Empowers People
CHEC welcomes anyone with questions on any health topic. CHEC has print books and magazines, internet access, video viewing and a children's area. CHEC has materials for all ages and all reading levels. CHEC staff can help users find needed information.

Linen-Powell Resource Library, Massey Cancer Center

The Linen-Powell Resource Library is open to anyone who wants information on cancer. You may ask information over the phone or by e-mail. You can also visit the library. The library provides current and easy-to-read information.

The Linen-Powell Resource Library has books, pamphlets, videotapes and audiotapes on topics like:
o Cancer treatment
o Specific kinds of cancer
o Children with cancer
o Coping with cancer
o Nutrition
o Hospice and home care
o Loss and grief

Women's and Family Health

The WHRC helps women and their families make good health decisions.
The WHRC offers:
o Internet access to health information
o Classes and lectures
o Referrals to community services
o Links to clinical trial information

A part-time librarian will help you find health information free of charge. Everyone can use the WHRC.
