Ways to Give
Cash Gifts:
Cash gifts may be made online or by contacting the VCU Libraries Development Office at (804) 827-1163 or 827-1165. Cash gifts may be paid outright or you may establish a pledge payment schedule. Please contact Kimberly Separ at (804) 827-1163 to discuss making your pledge of support to the VCU Libraries.
Full-time faculty and staff of Virginia Commonwealth University may participate in payroll deduction for gifts made to the VCU Libraries.
Gifts made to the VCU Libraries are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Estate and Planned Giving:
For many donors, a gift made through their will is the best way to make a substantial contribution to the VCU Libraries. Donors may leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of their estate. Through a bequest, a donor can make a gift without depleting current assets and take advantage of reduced federal estate taxes. Donors who make a bequests to the VCU Libraries are recognized as members of the VCU Heritage Society. To learn more about bequests, please contact Kimberly Separ at (804) 827-1163.
Additional information about making a bequest to benefit the VCU Libraries is available on the VCU Foundation's Web site. Gifts made to the VCU Libraries are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Gifts of Stocks:
The stock market makes gifts of securities a desirable means of giving to the VCU Libraries. If you are interested in transferring stock, the VCU Foundation will work directly with you or your broker. Please contact Kimberly Separ at (804) 827-1163 for additional information or visit the VCU Foundation's Web site. Gifts made to the VCU Libraries are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Gifts in Kind - Book & Material Donations:
Materials donated to VCU Libraries have long been an important component of our Collection Management program. Gifts often provide needed duplicates of highly used titles or supplement deficient retrospective holdings.
Gifts in kind are reviewed for relevance to subject areas important for VCU, material type, physical condition of the gift, and usefulness to the collection. To ensure maximum accessibility for patrons of VCU Libraries, added donations will be cataloged and shelved in the same manner as the rest of our collection. Items not appropriate for the collection will be placed in the Friends of the Library annual book sale. For more information on book donations, please contact Kimberly Separ or Antonia FD Vassar at (804) 827-1163 or 827-1165.
