The Friends of the Library are donors who support the mission, programs, collections and services of the VCU Libraries. The Friends are committed to helping the VCU Libraries build its resources and collections to provide for the ever-expanding needs of Virginia Commonwealth University's world-class teaching and research missions. Additionally, the Friends fund and promote an exciting series of community lectures and events, including the annual Friends of the Library book sale.
The Friends of the Library donor program is open to VCU alumni, individuals, families, community members, and friends. Donations made to the VCU Libraries are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Join Online
Friends of the Library may join or renew their annual donation online. The Friends of the Library registration form allows you to submit your donation online and pay with your personal credit card or electronic check via our secured server. The VCU Libraries accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover Card. The VCU Libraries cannot accept corporate checks or credit cards as payment for your individual donation.

Join In Person
Friends of the Library may register in person at the VCU Libraries Development Office, 4th floor, James Branch Cabell Library. Development staff are available to assist you Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If you need assistance outside of these hours, visit the Circulation and Information Services Desk at Cabell Library, or the Service Desk at Tompkins-McCaw Library. Please note it takes approximately two weeks until your donor benefits are available for your use. Friends will be notified by the VCU Libraries Development Office when the gift has been processed and donor privileges are available. Gifts made to the VCU Libraries are tax deductible as allowed by law.
