Remote Access Problems

 

General Troubleshooting - EZProxy

  • You should see this EZProxy login screen when you select a database, e.g., InfoTrac, or an electronic journal/book. If you do not see this screen, one of the following might be the problem:
  • Should you encounter a link that does not provide EZProxy access, please let us know what you were trying to access and from what page so we can correct the problem.
  • Internet Explorer users: You may see a "Page Not Found" message after you log in. Click on "Back" and try the link again. It should work the second time.
 

System Refuses Your Login Attempts

  • Check the obvious things first: (1) "Caps Lock" is OFF on your keyboard before you start typing in your username or password; (2) You typed your eID - the same username and password you use for your VCU email account and for Blackboard.
  • Verify your eID, and test it by opening your VCU email account or Blackboard. If successful there, please submit a Logon Problem Report telling us what you were unable to access.
  • Internet Explorer users: You may see a "Page Not Found" message after you log in. Click on "Back" and try the link again. It should work the second time.
 

Workplace Users

  • EZProxy should work with most workplace systems. If it does not, then your workplace has probably disabled all proxy use.
