As in most academic libraries, books in the VCU Libraries are shelved by Library of Congress call numbers.

Library of Congress Classification - Look here to see the general subject headings and the respective call numbers. In Cabell Library books available for circulation, books that you may borrow, are shelved on the third and fourth floors.

  • 3rd floor - call numbers starting with A - M
  • 4th floor - call numbers starting with N - Z
