Film Booking

VCU faculty and staff can book MRS or RALC media cooperative films for educational or staff training use.  Book films for future show dates or for extended loan.  MRS staff will confirm your booking and have the films ready to pickup on your booking date.  Film formats include DVD, video, 16mm film, and laserdisc.

  • Lead time: 1 working day for MRS titles / 1 week for media coop titles. 
  • Forms:  online Film Booking Form or print Film Booking Forms available from the MRS
  • Faculty may proxy booking privileges for their students or graduate assistants through the Film/Video Booking Form.  By sponsoring this proxy, the faculty is taking responsibility for the films.

VCU Libraries is a member of  Richmond Academic Library Consortium's (RALC) Richmond Area Media Cooperative. Coop member collections extends VCU faculty and staff access to over 27,500 additional DVD's, videos, 16mm films and laserdisc. To explore these collections, look for the RALC icon in WorldCat.

Note:  Films from Tompkins-McCaw Library on the Medical College of Virginia Campus cannot be booked for future dates.  Request TML films using the Item Request Form or request feature in the VCU Libraries Catalog.  Also, films outside the RALC media coop can be requested using interlibrary loan service via ILLiad.
