Women’s activist

At VCU Libraries, we recognize that the number of women’s collections must and can grow to serve the needs of our many researchers — including our faculty and student population, 60 percent of which is female. The James Branch Cabell Library already houses the records of women’s organizations such as the Richmond YWCA, Planned Parenthood, the League of Women Voters, and prominent members of Richmond’s NOW chapter, including Jean Hellmuth and Mary Holt Carlton.

We ask other organizations and individuals to contact us if they wish to add to this archive for the benefit of students of 20th- and 21st-century women’s history.
