Linking to Course Reserves from Blackboard or a Website
You may link BlackBoard (Bb) or a website to your VCU Libraries Course Reserves. Link to the Course Reserves Catalog, your own Course Listings within the Catalog or to an individual reading. See instructions below.
The link will remain the same as long as you renew your reserves each semester.
How to create a link from BlackBoard

From your Bb homepage, find your Course and click either the Course Documents,
Assignments or the External Links button. Each of these pages
has an 'Edit View' area that offers the ability to link outside
of Blackboard.

To add a link from the 'Edit View' area of the above pages, click the External
Link Icon
and you will be on the Add Item page. Here you will paste the URL to your link
and give it a description. Note: There is also a 'Date Restrictions'
feature here.

Linking to Course Reserves Catalog only

Use the URL below for VCU Libraries Course Reserve Catalog. This URL always links to the current semester's Course Reserve Catalog.

Linking to your Course Listings only
- Use the URL below and customize the ending with your own Course from the Course
Number field in the Course Reserves Catalog. NOTE: Course Numbers are always listed as four capital letters followed by numbers
with no blank spaces.

Linking to an individual reading or assignment only
- If an e-Reserve, find your specific Reserve in the Course Reserves Catalog and copy the URL from the E-Reserves field.

- For a hardcopy, book or other reserve item on the Course Reserve shelf, use the
URL below and customize the ending with the exact title from
the Title field in the Course Reserves Catalog, using the + character
to separate each word. This option is handy for the student to check for availablity and/or the call
number.
