Item Request Form Definitions

  • Holds. You may request that an item be reserved (held) for you. A hold can be placed on circulating library materials charged to another user, on order, in transit, in the marking room, in the repair room, or at the bindery. You will be notified when the materials become available and they will be held for you to check out. Holds are available to all registered borrowers. Back to Item Request Form
  • Recalls. You may request that checked out materials be returned before their due date. The person with the materials must have had the materials for at least 21 days before the recall will take effect. You will be notified when the materials have been returned. Recalls are available to VCU faculty, staff and students only. Back to Item Request Form
  • Deliveries. You may request that circulating library materials be delivered from one VCU Library building to another, e.g., Cabell to Tompkins-McCaw, where it may be more convenient for you to drop by and check these materials out. In addition, library materials may be returned to any VCU Library regardless of where they were checked out. Deliveries are available to VCU faculty, staff and students only.
