Presentation Rehearsal Studio

The James Branch Cabell Library Presentation Rehearsal Studio provides VCU students, faculty and staff with the space and technology resources to practice and develop presentations as well as to refine public speaking skills.

About the Presentation Rehearsal Studio

The system is designed to work with laptop computers and other portable devices as well. The facility features a podium with a flip top touch screen that controls:

  • a ceiling-mounted projector
  • a microphone and wall-mounted speakers
  • a motorized viewing screen

In addition, the space includes: wireless access, power, and networking for laptop computers, a conference table and seating for up to 10 people, and window blinds to darken the room.

Additional equipment is available for patrons to borrow from the Circulation service desk, including Sony bloggie digital cameras and tripods.

Guidelines for Use

VCU students, faculty and staff are encouraged, but not required, to reserve the Presentation Rehearsal Studio in advance. Reservations can be made via the online group study room reservation system.

Use of the Presentation Rehearsal Studio is subject to all VCU and VCU Libraries policies, including: VCU Libraries Use of Library Facilities (PDF) , VCU Libraries Computer Use (PDF), and the VCU Computer and Network Use Policy (PDF).
