VCU Libraries provides services and resources to assist researchers writing grant proposals. Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences offers a broad range of Reference Services for VCU investigators such as individual consultations by appointment to assist in the development of search strategies and the selection of appropriate databases. A literature search service is also available to VCU students, faculty, and staff.

- CRISP - Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (a database to locate previously awarded projects) As of Sept. 1, 2009, the CRISP system will no longer be supported and will become unavailable in the Fall of 2009. The CRISP system has been replaced by the RePORT Expenditures and Results (RePORTER) query tool.
