Tompkins-McCaw Library Classroom
Room Availability
The Tompkins-McCaw Library Classroom (room 2-006) is available for scheduling up to 3 months in advance. The room can be booked Monday through Friday, 8 am - 6 pm. Requests for evening and weekend hours will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Tompkins-McCaw Library events take precedence over non-library events.
Room Access
The TML Classroom is managed by the Tompkins-McCaw Library, VCU Libraries. Once your request has been accepted, you can pick up the room key at the Library Service Desk upon your arrival.

- 25 Computers w/24" flat panel monitors (1 instructor, 24 students)
- Windows 7 Professional Operating System
Special Hardware and Software
Special software and hardware requests must be approved by VCU Libraries prior to installation. The software must have a valid license for every computer in the room prior to consideration. The items must be given to a VCU Libraries technician in a time frame that allows for adequate installation and testing. Request submission schedule:

It may be possible to handle special software or hardware requests in the middle of a semester with at least 3 weeks' notice. Only the VCU Libraries Information Systems Group is authorized to alter electronic classroom software or hardware configurations. It is the responsibility of the requesting party to verify that such software is functioning as expected.
Temporary Files
Temporary files may be stored in the My Documents folder. All temporary files will be deleted after the computer is shut down or restarted. Save files to an external storage device if you wish to retain the content.
Technical Support
All computer problems should be reported at the Service Desk from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm. No technical support is available after 5:00 p.m. weekdays or on weekends and holidays. Contact Thelma Mack if you have problems or questions on room specific issues.
Room Orientation
If necessary, make an appointment for an orientation to the classroom well in advance of using the room. Contact Thelma Mack to schedule classroom training.

If you need to cancel a classroom reservation, please call (804) 828-0017 or send an email to tmleduc@vcu.edu.
At the conclusion of your class:
- Turn off the projector.
- Turn off the lights.
- Do not turn off the computers.
