Assembly of Hospital Schools of Nursing in Virginia

The Assembly of Hospital Schools of Nursing was organized under the sponsorship of the Virginia Hospital Association in 1978. Membership included the twelve diploma programs. The major purpose was to provide a mechcanism by which the diploma schools of nursing could share information, improve communication, and ultimately improve both nursing education and nursing practice in Virginia. Leadership respoinsibilities were shared through chairs and programs rotated among the schools. The first president was Helena Gee with Sister Mary Louis as Secretary.
