Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences (TML), a component of VCU Libraries, is located in downtown Richmond on the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. TML is named for 5 members of two prominent Virginia families including Sally Louisa Tompkins, the only woman commissioned as an officer in the Confederate army. The library's extensive collection of print materials and medical artifacts is the largest of any health sciences library in the Commonwealth.
