Deadline for September Student Showcase: Sept. 15
September 4, 2016
James Branch Cabell Library's big screen will host regular showcases of student work. Deadline for the first showcase is Sept. 15. This exhibition will run Sept. 30-Oct. 2 during VCU Family Weekend.
Do you have a project, an image, film, kinetic work, painting, sculpture, animation, cartoon, piece of comic art, something wonderful and interesting to look at that you are willing to share with the academic community on the Cabell Big Screen? VCU Libraries' inaugural Student Showcase invites you to submit your work for the September Student Showcase.
All students--full- or part-time, in any educational program, degree-seeking or not, are invited to participate.
You may submit multiple images for consideration with one submission form.
Deadline is Sept. 15 at the end of the day.
Due to the large numbers of works that may be submitted, the library committee may not be able to respond to each and every inquiry promptly. You will be notified if your work is selected and you'll be given a timeframe for its showing. Just because one piece isn't chosen, doesn't mean the next one won't be! There is no limit to the number of pieces or the number of times you can submit work.
The screen does best with simple images rather than very detailed pieces. We particularly welcome works created specifically for the screen. The aspect ratio of the screen is 9:8 and work will be cropped to adhere to the aspect ratio.
