Food for Fines program runs Nov. 17-Dec. 21
November 12, 2019
VCU Libraries will host a food drive Nov.17 - Dec. 21, 2019 to stock RamPantry @ VCU, which provides nutritious and culturally appropriate emergency food to VCU students.
In this case, generosity has an added benefit for people who owe overdue fines for library materials.
For each food item a person donates, VCU Libraries will waive $5 in fines, up to a $30 maximum. Fees to repair damaged items or to replace lost items will not be waived.
Bring food donation(s) to the Information Desk at James Branch Cabell or Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences.
Not sure what to donate? Here are some ideas. Any kind of non-perishable food is acceptable. No opened containers or food past the expiration day can be accepted. There is no limit to how many food items you can donate, although there is a $30 maximum for waived fines.
