Readers wanted for the 2019 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award contest

February 12, 2019

Looking for something new to read? Books for consideration for the 2019 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award are now available for checkout in Cabell Libarary. Find them on the small shelf next to the lockers on the first floor.

The input of readers like you determines the shortlist for the award. If you want to make your voice heard, just check out a book, read at least the first 50 pages, then fill out a brief online review. You can read as many books as you like.

In April, after all reviews are in, the VCU Department of English will tally results. From the shortlist, a panel of judges including last year's winner, Hernán Diaz, will decide the winner by early summer.
