Carla-Mae Crookendale works with faculty and students in the visual and performing arts. She supports their creative research through instruction, one-on-one consultations and programming.
Her interests include visual literacy, socially-conscious art and design, and craft. Before becoming a librarian, she worked as a jewelry designer and instructor, a stained glass artist, and a theater costume instructor/shop manager. When assisting artists, she can identify with their creative process from inspiration and research through concept development and execution.
Crookendale holds an M.L.I.S in Library and Information Science from Valdosta State University, an M.F.A. in Fashion, a B.F.A. in Metals & Jewelry and a minor in Art History from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
