Oscar Keyes joined VCU Libraries Innovative Media department as Multimedia Teaching and Learning Librarian in August 2019.

As Multimedia Teaching & Learning Librarian, Keyes develops, delivers and promotes the Innovative Media department’s instruction program in support of VCU community members’ multimedia literacy and creative skills. He will design, teach and assess instruction sessions focusing on audio and video production techniques, equipment and software. In addition, he will manage the department’s audio and video studios and will take over planning for weekly Wednesday in the Workshop sessions.

Keyes has advanced technical expertise in making media arts, and significant experience teaching students of all ages how to make media and understand the importance of digital citizenship in their daily lives. He has experience teaching for-credit courses focused on multimedia production and art at both Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of South Carolina, as well as considerable community-based instructional experience.

He brings an impressive record of scholarship, service and creative works to VCU Libraries.
