Bettina Peacemaker is committed to engaging students with the lifelong learning tools and information management strategies they need to succeed in school and beyond. Specialities include business and social social science research, information literacy instruction, graduate student outreach, liaison and outreach services and communications. She manages partnerships with both the Graduate School and University Career Services.
As liaison to the School of Business and business-related programs (including the VCU Brandcenter), she works to strengthen business education as well as innovation and entrepreneurship efforts. Peacemaker aligns with collections librarians to ensure that VCU Libraries' materials are relevant to evolving business research demands.
Creative and active in her outreach activities, she has brought business faculty into Special Collections and Archives too explore book art and to The Workshop to explore innovative media and tools. New to 2016-17 was Grad Fest, a research fair for incoming students she planned and managed.
In recent years, she has focused on developing projects to enhance subject-based outreach, through communications including e-newsletters, Advance Your Research workshops and other strategic public relations tactics developed collaboratively with librarians, faculty and the public relations office. She holds a Master's of Library Science from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary Washington.
