Assistive Technology Room
Access, location and hours
The Assistive Technology Room, Room 153, is primarily for vision-impaired VCU students, faculty and staff. The room is wheelchair accessible. Inquire at the Cabell Library service desk for access.
Technology
- SARA (Scanning and Reading Appliance) with monitor and headphones that scans and reads printed materials; also reads Daisy audio books and audio CDs
- Flatbed scanner and computer with JAWS and Open Book software to scan and digitize printed text; reads text aloud with a synthesized voice or will save to a computer file.
