Carla-Mae Crookendale works with faculty and students in the visual and performing arts. She supports their creative research through instruction, one-on-one consultations and programming.

Her interests include visual literacy, socially-conscious art and design, and craft. Before becoming a librarian, she worked as a jewelry designer and instructor, a stained glass artist, and a theater costume instructor/shop manager. When assisting artists, she can identify with their creative process from inspiration and research through concept development and execution.
