Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and Well-Drawn!

Description

This exhibit explores a little-known literary field that presents personal illness narratives and health information through comics. The exhibition showcases items from the National Library of Medicine's growing collection of graphic memoirs depicting people's experiences with health issues, including breast cancer, deafness, mental illness and HIV/AIDS.

The exhibit is free and open to all during normal library hours. Parking is available for a fee in the 8th Street parking deck. If special accommodations are needed, please contact Thelma Mack, research and education coordinator, at (804) 828-0017.
