Food for Fines stocks RamPantry and waives library fines Nov. 25-Dec. 18

November 13, 2018

VCU Libraries will host a food drive Nov. 25-Dec. 18 to stock RamPantry @ VCU, which provides nutritious and culturally appropriate emergency food to VCU students.

In this case, generosity has an added benefit for people who owe fines or certain fees for library materials.

For each food item a person donates, VCU Libraries will waive $5 in fines, up to a $30 maximum. Fees to repair damaged items or to replace lost items will not be waived.

Bring food donation(s) to the Information Desk at either James Branch Cabell Library or Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences.

Not sure what to donate? Here's a suggestion list. Any kind of non-perishable food is acceptable. Packages must be unopened and no items past expiration dates will be accepted. There is no limit to how many food items you can donate.
