Loaner laptop kiosks broken, check out laptops from the IT Support Center beginning Nov. 26.

November 6, 2018

The kiosks in James Branch Cabell Library that dispense loaned laptops are out of order until further notice.

Users can turn to the public desktop computers available on floors 1-4 in Cabell. Or, students may go to the IT Support Center on the lower level. The Center will have a limited number of laptops (30) available for check out beginning Monday, Nov. 26. This service is available to VCU students, a VCUCard is required and loan time is limited to 24 hours.

“We know this is a much-used service and we regret the inconvenience to students,” said Associate University Librarian for Research and Learning Laura Gariepy. “We are working closely with our partner, VCU Technology Services, to address the technical problems we are experiencing with the kiosks. At this time, we do not expect the kiosks to be operational during fall semester, but we continue to work closely with the vendor who provides the kiosk to reach a solution as quickly as possible.”
