Faculty: Open Textbook Workshops set for 2020

Faculty members who are looking for texts that are more affordable for your students, more aligned with your syllabus, or that allow more flexibility in course design should plan to attend a 2020 Open Textbook Workshop.

VCU Libraries hosts these one-hour sessions that cover textbook costs and open textbooks as an affordable alternative. After the workshop, attendees can receive a $200 stipend by writing a short review of a textbook from the Open Textbook Network Library

Open Textbook Workshop dates: 

  • Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, noon-1 p.m., James Branch Cabell Library, Room 205. Feel free to bring your lunch. [Registration closed for this session.]
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, 2-3 p.m., James Branch Cabell Library, Room 205
  • Tuesday, March 3, 2020, 10-11 a.m., James Branch Cabell Library, Room 205

Learn more, sign up to attend, and apply to be considered for a $200 professional development stipend for your workshop participation and textbook review. All faculty are invited to attend a workshop regardless of stipend eligibility.
