Health sciences library offers fresh new look, bold, flexible study spaces

February 7, 2017

Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences' 2017 facelift is complete. The first floor has new carpet, furniture and a new information service desk.

This is the first significant upgrade in furnishings and decor for the MCV Campus library since 2001. More recently, in 2012 and 2014, the lower level and second floor received updates.

The new interior offers more open space and a greater variety of study spaces, including large tables with bench seating and booths that can be shared or used for solo study.

Construction took place starting in mid-December to be less distruptive for library users. The library remained open during its regularly scheduled hours.
