Faculty: Apply for a 2023 Affordable Course Content Award by June 9

The VCU Libraries’ Affordable Course Content Awards is now accepting applications. The program supports faculty who adopt zero-cost resources or customize  openly-licensed alternatives to expensive course materials. The grants program is one element of VCU Libraries Affordable Course Content Initiative.  

This grant can be used to adapt an existing Open Educational Resource (OER) to match faculty learning outcomes or to create new learning material that will be licensed openly. Applications are due on Friday, June 9, 2023. For any questions or interest in OER contact  liboacc@vcu.edu.

OER/Affordable Course Content Award Program, 2023-2024

  • ADAPT: Adapt one or more existing OER customized to your instructional needs. Funded at up to $2,000
  • CREATE: Create or author new learning materials that will be licensed openly. Funding depends on project scope, ranging from $3,000 for an individual project to $20,000 for a departmental project that includes major course redesign for high enrollment courses.
