Lenore Dougherty was first welcomed onto The Workshop team in August of 2022 as a student worker. She then took on the role of Evening Lead and now further supports her colleagues and patrons.
Her main area of expertise started with maintaining the sewing machines. Within a few weeks on staff she found her niche in increasing the efficiency of the space through a keen eye for organization. She has since then expanded her knowledge to encompass all current machines in the makerspace.
Dougherty can usually be found troubleshooting with patrons or training them on the makerspace machines. While her responsibilities have been increased, she still finds the most joy in quietly tinkering with the textile machines.
When she is not in The Workshop she is progressing towards her bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering and devoting time to research labs in the Chemical and Biomedical engineering departments at VCU.
