Ibironke Lawal

Ibironke Lawal builds and manages collections in science, technology and engineering (STEM) fields. Prior to coming to VCU, she was Coordinator of Branch Science Libraries at the University of Virginia, supervising staff and operations of five branch libraries. Before that, she was the Physical Sciences Librarian at Dartmouth College.

Her interests lie in the power of quality collections, finding value in collections, building collections of distinction and assessment and benchmarking of collections with those of peers and aspirational peers.

Her research interests include collection analysis, student success in college, diversity and inclusion and scholarly communication.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, the American Society for Engineering Education, the American Chemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is the author of two books and several peer-reviewed journal articles.
