Jennifer Stout

As liaison to VCU's Department of Focused Inquiry, Stout collaborates with Focused Inquiry faculty to provide effective course-integrated instruction, online tools and resources, research assistance, and other services for students taking UNIV 111, 112, and 200. A teacher at heart, Stout is interested in pedagogy and connecting with students to assist them with their research, help them to succeed academically, and enhance their college experience.

Stout is committed to diversity and equity initiatives, focusing her academic scholarship on inclusivity, anti-racism, affirmation of LGBTQ identities, and intersectional feminism in libraries and academia. Other research interests include fresh approaches to information fluency, assessment of library instruction, and interdepartmental partnerships in teaching. A lifelong learner, Stout aims to inspire an attitude of curiosity and exploration of ideas in students and colleagues.
