Orientations
All members of the VCU community must attend an orientation prior to reserving the following equipment or spaces. Advanced orientations require their associated beginner orientation to be completed first.
Makerspace
Faculty seeking class tours and orientations to Workshop spaces and equipment, please use the Class Tour/Orientation Request form.
Individuals please register for the following orientations:
- 3D Printer - Prusa MK4 3D Printer (Beginner)
- Advanced 3D Printer - Prusa XL & Core One L 3D Printers
- Laser Cutter/Engraver - Epilog Zing/Fusion Edge
- Sewing Machine - Singer Heavy Duty (Beginner)
- Advanced Textile Machines - Digital Embroidery & Serger

Production Studios
Faculty seeking class tours and orientations to Workshop spaces and equipment, please use the Class Tour/Orientation Request form.
Individuals please register for the following orientations:
- Audio Recording Studio: Podcast (focus is more on voice projects)
- Audio Recording Studio: Music (focus is more on music projects)
- Simple Studio, a one-stop shop for video/audio production
- XRAM (Extended Reality and Advanced Media) Studio, an advanced studio that supports video game play and development, 4K media production, and immersive/interactive media projects.
- XRAM Studio Add-ons, bite-sized deeper dives into special topics such as virtual/augmented reality, motion capture, and haptic feedback suits.
