Research consultations and classes

We offer appointments for in-depth consultations to support the needs of researchers. Students, faculty, staff, scholars and community researchers are invited to contact an archivist or library specialist for personalized guidance on assignments, research or creative projects.

We teach a diverse range of classes and offer presentations that help faculty incorporate the use of archival, manuscript and special collections in research assignments and course work. Classes range from basic “how-to” sessions on using primary and secondary sources, to subject classes tailored to meet specific course objectives. Most classes offer students an exciting hands-on opportunity to examine rare and unique materials.

Scheduling sessions

Faculty are asked to schedule instruction sessions at least two weeks in advance. Please contact Teaching and Learning Librarian Katharine Buckley at buckleyk3@vcu.edu or 804-827-3575 to schedule an instruction session for your class. If you would like to learnmore about what kind of instruction services we offer, you may make an appointment.
